One Night in Nida: Unforgettable Music, 12,000 Attendees and a Challenging Wind

Sea, wind and nostalgic music familiar to all generations – on the second weekend of August, Nida once again resonated with 80s–90s hits as a crowd adorned in glitter partied. This time, according to the organisers' estimates, around 12,000 people gathered at the happiest summer party on the seashore.

As soon as Andrius Tapinas appeared behind the DJ booth, the entire crowd embarked with him on a nostalgic musical journey. As the sun set, the Lithuanian classic "Iš lėto leidžiasi saulė" played, and throughout the party, as one hit followed another, thousands danced to "Aš dar dainuosiu", "Švieski man vėl", "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", "I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)" dedicated to A. Tapinas's wife, "Bohemian Rhapsody" sung by the whole audience, and more – unforgettable moments were created one after another.

One of the most memorable moments was undoubtedly the performance by the evening's guest, the iconic Swedish band "Army of Lovers". With "Crucified", "Obsession" and other hits, the band rewarded the thousands gathered and created a true 90s disco atmosphere. As A. Tapinas said on stage, he himself could never have imagined that one day we would hear "Army of Lovers" live at "One Night in Nida".

OWEXX handled the technical organisation and execution of the event – the team-prepared stage, sound and lighting equipment ensured the event's quality. The professional team made sure the event ran smoothly and maximum quality was ensured.

"The biggest challenge of the project was the technical installation of the stage and sound and lighting equipment in extreme weather conditions, with wind gusts reaching up to 20 m/s. As we were responsible for the full technical execution of the event, we prioritised safety and structural stability. Therefore, we decided to adjust the original visual details that, in such wind, would have posed additional risk. Thanks to this tactical step and the team's professional work, the project was executed excellently. All technical work was completed on time, smoothly and without any incidents," said the OWEXX team about the responsible preparation for a special event.

As always, Andrius Tapinas invited the disco participants to send a message and purchase a park visitor ticket, and after the party to gather in the morning and help clean up the beach – thus not only thanking for an unforgettable night but also contributing to the preservation of the Curonian Spit.

The OWEXX event organisation professionals are delighted with the successfully implemented project and the smooth and professional work together with Andrius Tapinas and Gabija Milašiūtė: "We are glad to have contributed to this large and impressive project. Events on Nida beach are a unique experience requiring non-standard solutions. Despite the challenges of the preparatory work, during the event nature gifted us wonderful weather. Both our team and, most importantly, the event guests fully enjoyed the quality sound, lights and unforgettable atmosphere."

As the last songs faded and the lights went out, what remained was the reason more and more people return to Nida for one night each year – the best emotions, nostalgia and memories.
